Why doesn't DealerCrossing charge listing or transaction
fees?
DealerCrossing is not involved
with any vehicle purchase transaction. buying and selling is initiated and
completed between dealers directly. DealerCrossing gets out of the way so
that buyers and sellers can negotiate on their own terms and establish ongoing
business relationships. Therefore we feel it appropriate to only charge a
monthly subscription fee. this subscription fee based business model is
commonfor similar types of websites and other industries.

What is an Inventory Listing?
Dealers may list that inventory
for sale on DealerCrossing, complete with car details and images. inventory listings
remain for up to 30 days unless removed or marked as sold by the listing dealer.
When an inventory listing is created an email will be sent to each dealer with
either a matching WTB email filter or a current matching WTB Posts.

What is a WTB?
Dealers may also post WTBs. Like
WTSs, WTBs only last for seven days and they will produce emails for any matching
inventory listings, current WTSs and WTS email filters. The cool thing about want
to buys is that they can uncover available inventory from dealers not currently
listed on DealerCrossing. Imagine that you are looking for a specific make model
style color etc., but that car is not listed on DealerCrossing and there are no
current WTSs that match your needs. Post a WTB. Any dealer with a filter set up
for that type of car will get your want to buy post. Maybe they trade in that type
of car often and currently have some sitting in their inventory. Now they can contact
you knowing that you need a car that they have.

What is a WTS? (
Want To Sell)
Post WTSs (Want To Sell) - Dealers
may post WTSs which are similar to inventory listings, except that WTS's only last
on the system for seven days. A WTS can be created directly from an existing inventory
listing. This makes it easy to advertise your vehicles. You can even adjust the
price in your WTS and add special notes such as "special price through Saturday."

How is an Inventory Listing different from a WTS?
An inventory listing is very
similar to a WTS in terms of the information that is stored in both. Also,
they both will match WTB Posts and WTB email filters. However,
a WTS will only last seven days in DealerCrossing. An inventory listing
will last for 60 days and you can create multiple WTSs over time from a single
inventory listing.

What is an Email Filter?
An email filter is a device
used to allow only selected WTB or WTS broadcast emails from being received.
Email filters accomplish this by allowing you to specify general types of matching categories. For example, if you sell
pickup trucks from specific manufacturers, you could set up an email filter the
Body Style -
'Pickup Truck' and also select all the manufacturers you typically carry in your inventory.
This is an example of a single email filter. You can set up as many
email filters as you need. Email filters never expire, however you may
modify or delete them at any time. With each email filter, you specify whether it
match WTB's or WTS's / New Inventory Listings. When another dealer posts a
WTB, WTS or New Inventory Listing that matches your email filter,
you will be alerted automatically by email. Email filters are a powerful
technology that can change the way a dealer buys and sells wholesale inventory.
NOTE:
Users who have not yet created any email filters will
automatically receive a single summary email at the beginning of each day listing all the previous day's posts.
